( I'm bored at l u n c h ) stock.rb is a command-line-stock-quote-grabber. You can pass in ticker symbols or list them in ~/.stock. Example output 
r3potatoo:Sites jeff$ ./stock.rb
      YHOO      19.30    (1.10%)
         T      31.14    (1.70%)
         V      73.95    (0.83%)
r3potatoo:Sites jeff$ ./stock.rb VZ ALU
        VZ      34.65    (1.20%)
       ALU       6.11    (1.66%)
