I have built and helped build various programming language systems including my a language generator for my undergraduate thesis, the AspectJ Programming Language, the Jikes Research Virtual Machine from IBM, and the Concern Manipulation Environment from IBM.  I am interested in improving the way in which people write programs and build software; both through teaching and through industrial research.  Though much of my past work has involved programming languages and compilers, I have many other skills and can adapt to various tasks to help develop emerging technologies and improve existing ones. ')
