pop image

This is a greasemonkey to open image links in modal dialogs instead of new windows. In its current form you need to be running greasemonkey on firefox. If you know how to install these, here is the script.

   popimage.user.js

Usage

Once installed, here's how you use this thing.

  1. Whenever you visit a page with links that are images, the links are transformed to open the image as a modal dialog instead of a new window, such as:

There are close and view links at the bottom that will close this modal dialog or open the image (really) in another window respectively.
  2. You can add your own filters by opening the greasemonkey preferences; by default this runs on all images on all sites.

Installation

To use you must be running greasemonkey on firefox. So, I'll mention both.

  1. Install firefox.
  2. Install greasemonkey.
  3. Go to the link popimage.user.js a click the Install button in the upper right. If you don't see this button you haven't installed greasemonkey correctly -- in which case return to step #2.
